RedPE is a transdisciplinary collaboration platform that weaves together knowledge, practices and experiences from academia, research, education, public policy and civil society. Since 2017, RedPE has been working to highlight and address a dimension of inequality that has long been ignored: equitable, quality and sustainable access to energy. In this context, RedPE promotes knowledge generation and the development of strategies that respond to the complexity of this phenomenon, moving beyond monodisciplinary and fragmented approaches.

This webinar will explore how the RedPE bridges knowledge and action on energy poverty in Chile and Latin America. Presentations will cover:

  • New indicators and case studies on energy use and environmental conditions in central-southern Chile
  • Tensions between energy efficiency policies, retrofit programmes, and local energy cultures
  • Community-based initiatives such as “Guardians of the Warmth”
  • Energy communities and ecosocial transitions in Chile and the United Kingdom
  • Energy justice and everyday practices in incremental social housing
  • Building effective science–policy interfaces, including Chile’s 2025 multi-ministerial dialogues
  • Multiscale energy policies from local to global across Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Housing transformations and pathways for more effective residential energy efficiency.
